I do not mean to Badmouth or flame anyone.

First the other Hugh Williamson:
Hugh Williamson,member of the Continental Congress of 1784, distingushed of
North Carolina. This is partly true. For the four years he was in Nc.

However this Hugh, son of John Williamson and Mary Davison.
John Williamson (Circa. 1705-1757) Of Lurgan.
John Williamson came to America in 1730 from Dublin.
Married 1731 Mary Davison (dau of George)
John's Will written May 1, 1757 and probated July 20, 1757.(Cumberland Co.
Pa. WB 1-28,29).

Hugh Williamson the second child of John and Mary Williamson
b-5 Dec 1735 West Nottingham Twp, Chester Co,Pa. d- 22 May 1819 New York
City.
m-Jan 1789 Maria (dau of Charles Ward) Apthorpe.
(Hugh graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, May 17, 1757)

At no time were any of the above Williamsons living in Va.

The first Williamsons in Virginia settled in Isle of Wight 1638-9.

Richard was in Va. when Sir.Joseph was only 8 or 10 years old.

This Richard Williamson, Is said to be the father of all Williamson’s in
Virginia.
Richard was in Virginia 1640, At the Isle of Wright County, Virginia.
He witness a deed 1640, in Isle of Wright, to a Captain John Upton.
He witness a deed 1646, in Isle of Wright, by a William Yarnett as Richard
Williamson Sr.

Richard Williamson son, Dr. James Williamson married Ann Underwood,
the step-daughter of Captain John Upton. December 16, 1651

Surry Co. Va. Established 1652, from James City.

Another son of Richard; Dr. Robert Williamson married the Daughter of
Arthur Allen. and as per the Will of Dr. Robert, he ask to be buried
next to his father in Law @ Bacon Castle. Surry Co. Va.
Will:PROBATE: 2 May 1670, Isle of Wight Co., VA; Bk. 2, pg. 85.

Richard Williamson my 8th great-grandfather.
