Amy,
The Vigo County Library does have microfilm of the indexes to the
wills and probate records at the court house. These are films of
the original indices. It is possible that the original indices are
still at the courthouse, but I haven't personally verified this.
A clerk at the courthouse was very helpful in making copies of
probate records once I furnished the box number information which I
obtained from the indices. Can't answer specifically for wills, but
I assume the proceedure is the same. Don't know that this is the
best way, but it does work.
I can provide the clerk's name and phone number if you write me
directly (off the list). I don't know whether she would be as
helpful if you called or wrote without supplying the specific
information she needs to access the records.
