Pat,
The book number I referenced in my email is the Clay County Book and page
number where the marriage is registered. I would suggest you contact the
Clay County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 56, Center Point, IN 47840,
812-835-5005. The email address is . They have a wealth of
information including family files. If you email them, they will tell you
what they have and what it will cost to copy and send them to you. They do
have a Kester family file. I don't know if they have a death index or not,
but they do have cemetery records. They have a great website that can be
accessed through the Clay County Genweb page. The easiest way to get to the
Clay County page is through the Vigo County page. There's a link to
neighboring counties at the bottom of the page. You have to be a little
patient when you email them because they are only open Mon-Wed-Sat from 1-4.
If you would rather just call the courthouse and see if you can get the
marriage certificate there, it's at 609 E. National Ave in Brazil; 47834.
The number for the Cler's office is 812-448-9024, but I think you can get a
lot more for the genealogical society.
