Dear Listers,
I am researching Squire Smith who married Lucretia Thomas in VIgo Co., Ind. in March of 1840. Lucretia is said to have had a brother named John Thomas. I find a John Thomas who married an Elizabeth Pound in Vigo Co., Ind. on June 11th, 11837. I have also found a William Thomas who married Amanda Pound April 25th, 1850 and an Irvin Thomas who married Emeline Pound on May 116th, 1846. Last two marriages also in Vigo Co., Indiana.
Squire Smith died before 1850. His widow, Lucretia and three daughters were living in Bond Co., Illinois in 1850 in the household of her parents, Isaac and Mary Thomas.
Possibly Isaac Thomas would be listed as a head of household in an 1840 census of Vigo, Co., Indiana.
Lucretia was still writting letters to her Thomas family members in Terre Haute, Indiana untill she died in1930. I'm trying to find out who these Thomas ' were. They would be my cousins. I am also trying to determine if any of the members of the Pound family intermarried with my Thomas family.
I'm happy to hear from anyone with suggestions.
